Men's health exams are extremely beneficial. There are many purposes behind a regular check up for men.

Although, men's wellness exams happen regularly, they are not always going to be exactly the same. Something that is in most men's wellness exams is the opportunity to share any health concerns you may have with your doctor or medical practitioner.

Other common thing that come up are allergy needs, blood pressure, medical history, and current illnesses. Although, all of these things help our patients stay healthier, it is not the time to wait for any immediate health concerns. If you have any immediate health concerns you can call and set up an appointment.

Rachelle Jones, FNP-C, wants men's wellness exams to be beneficial to all her patients. She believes that listening to people's concerns can help reduce stress. Addressing any areas of concern now can help prevent problems in the future. Take the time to visit her in Rexburg the next time you need a men's wellness exam.

Men's wellness blood work

Men's wellness blood tests are one of the bigger tools in your practitioner's or doctor's tool belt. There are so many different things that can come from these tests. They can also help in finding answers to many different symptoms. It is important to get your blood work done regularly to help follow trends in your health.

There are many different blood tests that can be done but we have listed a few of the most common tests for men's health that your doctor or practitioner can use.

A PSA test is a most often used to help find prostate cancer. It uses a blood test to determine your PSA levels and trends in those levels. This test is most useful when it has been done multiple times to help see spikes in your test. It is also important to note that when this test is high, it doesn't definitely mean you have prostate cancer. A high test is just a good indicator of potential risks for prostate cancer.

A CBC test stands for Complete Blood Count and that is exactly what it means. A CBC test can help to detect things that are related to the blood stream. A CBC test will look at white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This test can be a big help in diagnosing many different types symptoms. An annual CBC test is helpful in maintaining men's health.

A CMP test helps to test sugar levels , electrolyte and fluid balance, kidney function, and liver function. A doctor or practitioner will often use this test to help diagnose diabetes.

Free and total Testosterone

A free and total testosterone test helps to detect two different types of testosterone. The first is a free testosterone. These hormones are free flowing testosterone in the blood stream that are not connected to any proteins. The second testosterone found in a testosterone test is one bound with a protein, they are called SHBG. Both of these types of testosterone help practitioners and doctors find ways to help men with different types of sexual dysfunctions. They can also help figure out how to treat fatigue, depression, hair loss, muscle mass loss, and weakening bones.

This test is used to measure your thyroid levels. By doing this, practitioners and doctors can help to screen for thyroid disease and see how your body is reaction to treatments for this disease. Along with that, the test can help diagnose Graves Disease.
